  1. I think that mitch daniels did a really goodjob with the republican realonse because i agreed woth a lot of the things he said. I dont know much about obama or anyone really but from wht i heard obama said i didnt really agree. Like with how wealthy people have to pay more taxes than poor people. Thats dumb and i do agree with mitch danels how he said that obama always said he was gonna make change but he really hasnt done much change

  2. To begin with, Daniel's passive agressive remarks are hilarious. In any case, both sides did a wonderful job stating what they thought were the big issues, and then elaborating. I think Obama did a bit better job, however, just because he is such an amazing public speaker. The one thing I feel like they both focused on the most would be the economy. Both of their approaches to fix this down economy seem logical enough, but because no one is working together and instead acting like children, nothing will happen any time soon here. I think that overall, both men did a wonderful job with their speaches and made calid points, but in reality, the liklihood of any ideas working out is slim to none.

  3. The state of the Union adress went very well for Obama. During the speech it was as if the Republicans were actually listening to what Obama had to say instead of dismissing it. During the speach it seemed like both parties agreed that there are more important things to worry about than the bickering between the parties. Hopefully this will inspire change in how things are run in the government.

  4. I think that both Obama and Mitch Daniels did a good job stating what the country's major problems were and what can be done to fix them. However, I think that Obama did a better job because he's had more experience with public speaking more than Daniels. I also agreed with more of Obama's points than I did Daniels'.

  5. I thought that The State of the Union was not what it is intended for. It seemed that it was more of a campaign ad. Obama, being the great public speaker that he is, managed to sound very well to the common people. On the other hand he "forgot" to mention about the 20,000 jobs he is destroying by vetoing the Keystone Pipelines. More people are on well-fare and more illegal immigrants are receiving government aid. To me this is ridiculous and not the way that America should be headed. Obama is creating class warfare by turning the middle class people against the people create jobs and give the middle class workers jobs. With no upper and lower classes there is no one to control the workplace other than the government which is socialism. Who else were socialist? The Soviet Union. Obama wants to make people who make over one million dollars a year to pay a 30% federal tax. Now that's not the end of their taxes either. They, like everyone else has to pay and income and state tax also. Meaning a person who make one million dollars a year now make 500,000. I strongly support Mitch and whatever else he has to say. In my opinion, Mitch should run for president and everyone who watched his reaction agree.

  6. Mitch Daniles is the man and would without a doubt be president if he ran. Mitch spoke clearly and continually for twelve minutes explaining what Obama is doing wrong and how Republicans can help this country. He showed both affection and experience in his speech. After editors edited out all of Obama's long, unneecessary pauses in between sentences, his speech totaled five minutes. I don't dislike Obama but I think that the Republicans would do a better job at running our country.

  7. I believe that both parties did well with adressing what was going on in the USA, and what the plans are. Obviously, Obama did a better job speaking because he is a better public speaker, but I feel like he didn't tell us the major problems like our national debt. Obvously, we need to fix our economy more than anything else. Our national debt is $15 trillion. We need to put that as the the number one thing on our to do list. I just hope that the two parties can work together and slowly make this country better every day.

  8. I thought that Obama did a good job addressing most issues except the huge debt we are in. But as Mitch said, Obama only was stating positive and not the negatives. As Christian said Obama wants to create class warfare. This country has last this long because of the high, middle, and low classes. If all the classes are combined then who really is able to take control. And with Obama vetoing the Keystone Pipline, cost thousands of jobs that this country really needs. If Mitch would run for president I believe that he would be able to turn this country around to its glory days

  9. In my opinion, Daniels and Obama both did a good job of informing us about our current, major probems, and how they are planning to fix them. I believe Obama delivered his points more clearly because he is such a great public speaker, but MItch showed a sense of confidence in his speech which was cool.

  10. Honestly, I believe both of them said what their particular political party wanted to hear. I am not doubting any of their sincerity, but after all, it is all "politics". Both Obama and Daniels focused on how to fix the economy, but they never proposed an absolute, sure way to fix it. Even though there are no quick fixes, all either side could come up with where taxes. Frankly, taxes haven't been working for awhile so obviously someone needs to come up with a new plan. If I were to choose who persuaded me the most on what to believe, it would have to be Obama just because he's a great political speaker (and probably pays someone a lot to write his speeches). I would say, though, that Mitch Daniels hit the nail on the head when he said that if the economy is not fixed, it will be THIS generation's mess to clean up. And by the way things are looking, since neither side can agree, if our senators and representatives and president can't work together, it will be OUR mess to clean up.

  11. I thought both Obama and Daniels did wery well in getting their points across. I think Obama did better in his speech because he has to give speeches alot and in front of millions of people, but I do think Mitch Daniels did a good job as well. I think Obama is doing a good job on how he is going to approach our bad situations in this economy.

  12. There's kind of a lot of things that are highlighted here but I feel like mitch did and acceptional job. I agree with a lot of points that he touched on, I feel like the way he expressed the views of the republican party was also very well done and I also think that is why so many people felt so moved by mitch and would be hoping to see him ru, from what I have heard mitch would prbably do a great job and succeed fairly well as president. Yaay mitch! Good job!

  13. I thought one of the key things that was mentioned was the democrats and republicans need to work together, I feel that often times the parties campaign for something and they get caught up in the details. They fight about it but then the bigger problem never gets fixed nothing is done about it because the parties are fighting about how they think it should be done, so the problem sits and gets worse and worse. I believe both parties need to do a better job of communicating with each other and trying to reach compromises that will benefit all people not just get them re-elected or gain the backing of their party. I thought both speeches were well written and well read but I wont be satisfied until I see results, words aren't going to fix the job market and economy action will.

  14. The state of the union went very well in my opinion for both sides. Something I personally enjoy is being able to see a view from each party without them being interupted by the other. Both sides did a good job explaining the state of our union and what we could do to make it better. I did however think the President is a more comftorable public speaker.
