I probably wouldnt aay anythinf to his face because if it really bothers the girl she should have the guys to tell him no and if not she should quit her job and get a different one. If that was me i would quit right away. But i probs wouldnt do anythinf to stop it i jut wouldnt go to that restaurant anymore
If I had seen enough to be one hundred percent sure it was sexual harrassment and not some off color joke then I would have confronted the manager and rallied the other diners with me to fend him off. Id then try my hardest to help the girl with why she's still there and help her find a new job if she wants the help.
Workiing in the restraunt business, and knowing how creepy guys are that work there, ide say somthing, she should stand up for herself but I she can't handle that, ide probably say somthing... its hard to watch someone be that uncomfortable and not say anything..
I agree with you. I hope you would never have to deal with that but I think you would say something because you seem like someone who would say something. which is a good thing.
I would definitely want to say something to the guy. I would tell him to "get a life sicko". I would also tell the girl to get a new job. The way I would act would prolly be a lot different. I prolly wouldn't say anything and just watch. I know that's sad but that's prolly what would happen.
I agree with Chase. Id want to stand up for the woman against her manager. However, I think that if I experienced something like this, I would most likely not do anything, which is terrible.
I agree with you, Chase. I would hope to say something along those lines, but I don't think I would actually be the first one to stand up and say something.
I agree, I would imagine if you were in that position you would say something becasue you are a good guy but I see why you would say that you would not do anything because it can be hard to do so.
I agree with chase, i would stand up to the man and let him know what he's doing is wrong. Its unacceptable for a boss to treat his employees like that.
Haha i agree with Chase, like i was saying i would say somthing, thats just annoying and creepy some men can just cross the line too much and especially like thats its just too much, ridiculous,,
I don't work in the restaurant business, but I do work in the public service industry and do know of a few creeps. To me, it's not acceptable. I think, in that situation, it's hard for the woman being harassed to speak up. I don't blame the girl at all. However, if I were a witness, I sure would stand up and say something. To be perfectly honest, I'd be rude about it. If I were a witness, you better believe I'd report it (if it didn't stop), and if it went to trial, I'd be the first witness to call. It is totally unacceptable to take advantage of an employee. Sometimes, it's not enough to say something to the manager. Sometimes, you do have to get involved because it's obviously an ongoing problem in such an environment.
I would absolutely say something. It's completely unacceptable for a boss to do something like that, and it's completely inappropriate too. I would probably do what the men in the video did and confront the boss about him sexually harrassing the girl. If it was me in the girl's position, I would immediatly quit. No job is worth being humiliated that way.
I agree with you. Truly, there are other jobs out there in a better environment. No girl, or man if the case may be, should have to take that just to keep a job.
The thing to remember from the video is the man who said he would confront the boss but didn't. How many of us would really have the courage to stand up for her?
I would definitely say something to the guy. He has no right to do what he is doing. If I would have to keep telling him to stop then I would have a talk to the girl. I would personally help her find a new and better job. She doesn't deserve to get treated like this. If she were to say that she needs the job then i would call her out and tell her she is totally wrong. She can do way better and deserves way better. But if the girl would to dress in a bit of a provocative way then I would let it go at first until it got out of hand. I would then confront her at the end of the night and give her some advise of what she should do.
I would hope I would stand up and say something in this situation like you Josh. I would be very offended if I saw this happening at a restraunt. But like you said, if she was dressed inapropriatley, I would think that it is a bit of her fault, but i'm sure enough would be enough at some point.
At first, I probably wouldn't say anything. However, if I saw how negatively it was affecting the woman, I would either tell her not to put up with that kind of behavior or confront the manager directly, saying that those types of actions are inappropriate, especially at the workplace.
I agree with not saying anything at first but if I knew that she was feeling very uncomfortable I would try to help her get a way out of it. No one should have to put up with that.
I agree as well. Girls should always know to stand up for themselves, but a lot don't. Especially if their job is crucial in their lives. If a saw this happening, I would want to confront the manager.
I wouldn't want to react to the situation because it isn't my business. If I was at a restaurant, I would be there to eat and enjoy the food. Althought I wouldn't want to react, most likely I would stand up for the girl. Standing up for someone that can't do it themselves is almost instinctive to me.
I dont think i would sit there and enjoy my food id probs just leave and not cum back to the restueant ever again but i dont think i would stand up to te guy doing the dirty
If I were to find myself in this situation I would hope I would say something and confront the problem in a way that would benefit the employee being harassed the most. It is completely unacceptable to force someone into a situation in which they are not comfortable. I admire the man from the video who offered the waitress a way out by promising her a job at his company, and I would hope I would respond in a similar fashion. That being said I found it appalling that when the waitress wearing the red dress was harassed many customers responded as if she was asking for it or deserved it. That type of thought and behavior in my eyes is unacceptable everyone no matter who they are deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
I agree with the fact of the man who offered the waitress a job. Sometimes I wish there were more people like him would help out with any problem. that is the way that you know there is still some good in the world. Regarding the woman in the red dress, it shouldn't matter what they wear, if they are being made to feel uncomfortable then someone needs to step in and intervene.
I agree, saying that it was her fault based on how she was dressed is honestly disgusting. I kind of goes to show how judgemental people can be, and it's a bit upsetting.
I agree that the thought process in our mind changes about a person by the way that they are dressed. But in reality they are some of the people that need help the most.
In reality I probably would not do anything if I were to see sexual harrasment during a work situation. I believe it does not have anything to do with me therefore it is none of my business to be involved in any way. Even though I do believe that it is wrong for sexual harrasment to take place, if I have nothing to do with the situation in front of me I probably will not stop what is happening.
From my view, if you're seeing it, it is your business. You can't just stand there and watch someone be taken advantage of against their will. You can't sit there, pretend it's not happening, and then not want to do something about it.
Its always hard to know exactly what to do in those situations. It makes it very awkward for both parties. Most people, sadly, would hesitate to help the person out. But some people think, "what if that was me?" Most people would react differently then. So my thought is that we should handle it by what would we like to happen if it were the other way around.
I agree too because it just depends on how serious it is because its nt like the girl cant jut get up and leave and go find another job she can easlily leave so its hard to feel that sory for her
I agree most people, saddly me included, would probably sit there and watch it happen, I honestly could not know what I would do unless confronted with the situation.
I would hope I would say something about the guy being a creep and being a sick man and stuff and tell the girl she needs to leave. The way I would act though would probably be different. I would probably be to nervous to say anything. I know everyone should stand up and say something, but I believe we all are to afraid to be the first one.
I agree. It is easier to say something if your aren't the first person to say anything. When no one else says anything it causes us to be a little more hesitant.
I would want to fight that boss and get him fired because that is no way to treat an employee. I would want to send that man to jail for being a complete creep. The way I would react would probably be different because I would probably not fight him and just try to get him fired.
hahah i could see you trying to fight him ha... but yeah deffinetly get the guy fired and maybe even arrested, its not fair to the girl and even if she is new maybe theres a reason like.... maybe he herassed the other girls too... just saying?!
If a boss did that i would want to get him fired and have charges pressed against him for harassing en employe. He should have jail time because of sexual harassment. The man should be fired as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the girl should definitely stand up for herself but I would prolly just leave the restaurant and never go back.
DeleteI agree that the girl should stand up for herself because she is allowing him to do this. Its not hard to find another job.

ReplyDeleteWorking in the business do you see this a lot? If so that's scary. I hope you never have to deal with a situation in which your uncomforitable.

ReplyDeleteChase I think your a great guy and I bet you'd surprise yourself, I think you would probably end up standing up for someone in that situation.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion that is what a lot of people would do. I think you'd be completely justified to take whatever means necessary to help that girl
